SOLAFT Kelly Filters are highly efficient and durable, typically tightly woven on heavy duty weaving looms in structure that maximises solid retention and liquor throughput.
Kelly Filters

Pressure Leaf (Kelly) Filters are used mainly in alumina refineries as security filters in the clarification process, or sometimes as oxalate filters and are characterised by:
- 50 to 600 kPa pressure
- 75-108⁰C temperature
- Clarification feed liquor 5-10µm at 100-200mg/L, with target filtrate solids <10mg/L
- Oxalate feed liquor 30-100µm at 3-6% solids, with target filtrate solids of <1g/L
- Typically use Polypropylene media
- Use yarn combinations including monofilament, multifilament, and various forms of spun yarn
- SOLAFT can assist with combating filtration issues which includes low liquor flow rate, high filtrate solids, high cake moisture, poor cake release, cloth stretching, media blinding, media abrasion
